CompoundVice ("we," "us," or "our") operates the website located at compoundvice.com. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices regarding that information.
Information We Collect
We collect information in two ways:
- Automatically via analytics: When you visit CompoundVice, Google Analytics 4 automatically collects anonymized data including pages visited, time on site, general geographic region (country/city level), browser type, device type, and referring website. This data does not identify you personally.
- Voluntarily via email signup: If you subscribe to our email list, we collect your email address. We use this solely to send content related to CompoundVice.
We do not collect names, payment information, social security numbers, or any other sensitive personal data. The calculator on this site runs entirely in your browser — we do not log or store any numbers you enter.
Cookies
We use cookies for analytics purposes only. Google Analytics 4 sets cookies to distinguish users and sessions, measure traffic patterns, and understand how visitors use the site. These cookies do not track you across unrelated websites for advertising purposes.
You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
How We Use Information
Analytics data is used to understand which content is useful, improve the calculator, and measure site performance. We do not use analytics data to build individual user profiles or target advertising.
Email addresses, if provided, are used only to send CompoundVice content. We do not sell, rent, or share email addresses with third parties.
Affiliate Links and Third-Party Sites
CompoundVice contains links to third-party websites (affiliate partners such as Acorns, Rocket Money, Quit Genius, and others). When you click these links and visit those sites, their privacy policies govern the collection of your information. We have no control over, and assume no responsibility for, the content or privacy practices of any third-party site.
Affiliate links may contain tracking parameters that allow our partners to attribute referrals to CompoundVice. These parameters do not give us access to your activity on partner sites.
Data Retention and Security
Analytics data is retained in Google Analytics for 14 months by default. Email subscriber data is retained until you unsubscribe. We implement reasonable technical measures to protect information, but no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.
Your Rights
You may:
- Opt out of Google Analytics using the browser add-on linked above
- Unsubscribe from our email list at any time via the unsubscribe link in any email
- Request deletion of any personally identifiable information we hold by contacting us
If you are a California resident, you may have additional rights under CCPA. We do not sell personal information to third parties.
Children's Privacy
CompoundVice is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by an updated effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
